Nail painting -- it is a bit strange that we brush lacquer on the small areas at the tips of our fingers and toes. It is where we put the colors and designs of our liking; our nails are small canvases that can change color or image whenever we decide it is time for something new.
The Ancient Egyptians used nail color to indicate social class. Red was exclusive for the most elite and henna was used to create the color.
In recent times, the Japanese took the concept of nail decorating a bit further.

Why stop at just using paint for nails when tiny objects can be glued on too? I was first introduced to Japanese nail art by two friends, Brooke and Steph. I'm obsessed.

Their go-to salon and the first place I went to get a few sparkly bows on my nails: Salon Cherie.
